Foreign trade revenue drops 12.7%: SHCP

The collection in cash flow from foreign trade operations in Mexico totaled 633,942 million pesos from January to September 2020, an increase of 12.7% year-on-year, reported the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).

The collection statistical information considers only the cash flow and does not consider virtual forms of payment or special certificates (public and/or private).

With this, this collection decreased by 92.3 billion pesos, mainly due to a contraction in VAT.

Collection in cash flow from externa trade operations

Internal contributions exclude those derived from foreign trade operations; For their part, foreign trade contributions refer to those related to the entry and exit of goods to the national territory.

In this context, despite the health crisis, in January-September 2020, internal contributions registered an increase of 5.3% in real terms compared to 2019, which represented an additional 151.4 billion pesos.

The foregoing compensated for the low activity of external trade that had a real tax decrease of 15.5%, which meant a decrease of 91.800 million pesos.
