Airbus production in Mexico includes components, doors, and hatches for all A320 aircraft sold worldwide.

This production takes place at one of its plants in Querétaro, where some 4,000 doors are manufactured and shipped each year from Mexico to the final assembly lines in Europe.

The production lines in Querétaro were highlighted by Ricardo Capilla, president of Airbus Mexico, in a report written to commemorate 200 years of relations between Mexico and France.

Airbus has been present in Mexico for 45 years, and its three divisions—Defense and Space, Commercial Aviation, and Helicopters—are represented in the country.

According to Capilla, Mexico offers numerous advantages. The group has access to a highly specialized workforce and personnel. It also has strategic suppliers that are integrated into global production value chains. Furthermore, Mexico has multiple trade agreements with various countries.

Exports from the Aerospace Industry

Airbus generates between $700 million and $1 billion in exports annually from Mexico.

Airbus manufactures commercial aircraft, helicopters, and defense systems at highly advanced production facilities around the world. The company integrates sustainable technologies and continuous innovation into its assembly lines to optimize operational efficiency. Its industrial processes ensure global deliveries that meet the highest standards of quality, precision, and safety.

In Mexico, the company employs highly qualified personnel, many of whom travel abroad to perform tasks such as helicopter maintenance and service operations in various regions around the world.

For example, Airbus has a contract to produce between 70 and 75 aircraft from the A320 family between now and 2027, and is currently expanding production capacity at its Querétaro plant to meet this goal.

More broadly, Mexico is a very attractive market for Airbus, as all of its products are used in the country, and it is an important partner for both the public and private sectors.

In fiscal year 2025, Airbus reported consolidated revenue of 73,420 million euros, a 6% year-over-year increase. The company’s net income grew 23% to 5,221 million euros. At year-end, its consolidated workforce totaled 165,294 employees, 5% more than in 2024.
