IMD publishes 2020 World Talent Ranking

The Institute for Management Development (IMD), based in Switzerland, released the 2020 World Talent Ranking on Thursday.

The list was headed by Switzerland, followed by Denmark, Luxembourg, Iceland, Sweden, Austria, Norway, Canada, Singapore and the Netherlands.

By 2020, the most competitive economies in the 2020 Global Talent Ranking are those that invest in education.

Criteria that capture the quality of education at all levels: primary, secondary and tertiary were included in the ranking.

Furthermore, in the most competitive economies apprenticeships are sufficiently implemented and employee training is a priority for companies.

Therefore, the best in the Global Talent Ranking 2020 are countries that invest in a holistic concept of education.

In other words, highly competitive countries focus their talent development efforts at all stages of the educational process.

Also, the top ranking economies are those that attract an international talent pool.

By definition, these are countries open to both people and ideas.

World Talent Ranking 2020

“The pandemic has affected our lives in different ways. A major disruption that occurred quickly for many people was the separation between the workplace and «where people work today,» those members of the workforce whose tasks can be performed remotely, work from home .

“There are different pros and cons of this reality. An important component is the sustainability of the motivation of workers while they are away from the physical workplace and their colleagues. In this sense, amid the current Covid-19 crisis, we identified a trend among the main economies,” said the IMD in the 2020 World Talent Ranking.

Companies in these countries are able to continuously motivate their workforce.
