At 475 meters, Torre Rise, currently under construction in Mexico, will enter the ranking of the five tallest skyscrapers in America.
Across the continent, this building is only surpassed by One World Trade Center, located in New York, United States, at 541 meters.
Torre Rise is a project by Ancore Group, in partnership with Nest and Pozas Arquitectos.
Tallest skyscrapers in America
Torre Rise is a mixed-use complex in Monterrey. It includes luxury apartments, offices, and commercial spaces. Its vertical design makes the most of the urban land and combines different functions in a single structure.
The project responds to the trend toward multifunctional developments. It connects housing, work, and entertainment in the same space. Thus, it promotes a practical and dynamic lifestyle for those who live in or visit the city.
Comparatively, the Rise Tower will be 67% taller than the tallest building in Central America, the JW Marriott Panama, in Panama City, which stands at 284 meters.
It will also exceed the tallest building in South America, the Gran Torre Santiago, in Santiago, Chile, by 58%, which stands at 300 meters.
The tallest skyscraper in Latin America today, the Torre Obispado, also located in Monterrey, has a similar height of 305 meters.
These are the tallest skyscrapers in the Americas, including Torre Rise:
- One World Trade Center (New York, United States): 1,776 feet or 541 meters.
- Torre Rise (Monterrey, Mexico): 1,558 feet or 475 meters.
- Central Park Tower (New York, United States): 1,550 feet or 472 meters.
- Willis Tower (Chicago, United States): 1,450 feet or 442 meters.
- 111 West 57th Street (New York, United States): 1,428 feet or 435 meters.
World Cup
Investors plan to have the Rise Tower operational for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The thirteenth tallest tower in the world will feature the SkyDeck 360°, a three-level observation deck that will attract international tourism.
In the National Travel and Tourism Strategy, published in June 2022, the US Department of Commerce highlighted four key actions to attract more international visitors.
One of them is to take advantage of large-scale events, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The plan proposes using these events to position the United States as an attractive destination.
