Enrollment at Universidad del Valle de México reached a record high in 2025, growing 6.3% to 132,200 students. This performance consolidates its recovery after the pandemic. It also confirms the upward trend within Laureate Education’s Mexico operating segment.
Compared to 2020, UVM enrollment increased by 39.2%. The company attributes this growth to market factors, academic quality, and operational flexibility. Thus, the institution has capitalized on the unmet demand for higher education in the country.

One of the main drivers is the imbalance between supply and demand. In Mexico, there is a significant gap between the high demand for quality higher education and the limited capacity of public universities, which are often underfunded. As a result, there is room for private institutions.
Economic incentives also strengthen the decision to enroll. Higher education graduates earn approximately 39% more income between the ages of 25 and 34. Between the ages of 45 and 54, the salary difference reaches up to 68% compared to those who only have a secondary education.
Academic reputation also plays a role in expansion. UVM remains among the top 10 universities in Mexico. It also has an overall rating of four stars in QS Stars, with five stars in employability, online learning, and inclusion.
In terms of academic offerings, nearly 75% of students study disciplines in Health Sciences, Engineering, and Information Technology, as well as Business and Management. Noteworthy is the strategic expansion of medical schools and the emphasis on applied professional content.

Flexibility in modalities reinforces positioning. UVM operates face-to-face, online, and hybrid programs. This model attracts both traditional students aged 18 to 24 and working adults who require flexible schedules.
Operationally, the institution maintains a historical average student retention rate of 79%. As part of a large-scale network, it leverages best practices in digital marketing, data science, and recruitment processes to strengthen retention.
Mexico represents a strategic market for Laureate, which also operates the Technological University of Mexico. Together, both institutions had 269,400 students in 2025, with more than 30 campuses and national licenses. The Mexican segment generated 52% of consolidated revenue.
