Global manufacturing services and technology solutions company Jabil is advancing in the production of humanoids in Mexico.
“Jabil is starting up a plant in Chihuahua. It’s a project, but it’s already underway,” said Humberto Martínez, president of the National Council of the Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry (Index).
A humanoid is a robot with a shape and functions similar to those of a person. It is used in factories, where it supports technical assistance activities. It also appears in customer service, providing speed and efficiency. In addition, it participates in research projects and high-risk missions. In this way, it combines automation with social and operational interaction, setting a trend in industrial transformation.

With its corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, Jabil specializes in designing, producing, and managing electronic and consumer products for various industries.
Martínez commented that in that same plant in Chihuahua, there are plastic injection machines where no one enters: everything is automated. Other plants with this feature operate in Mexico.
At a press conference, Martínez highlighted the production of humanoids in Mexico. He explained that it is part of the country’s advanced manufacturing sector. He also pointed out that this development exemplifies the topics that will be addressed at the upcoming National Index Convention, October 15-18, in Mexico City.
“Just to give you an idea: we are making many products with extremely delicate technology that is very important to us, as a country and as exporters; in Chihuahua, we are already making humanoids,” said Martínez.
He then smiled as he said, “We never even remotely thought we would be doing this. It used to be something you saw in science fiction movies, and now we have it and we are getting there.”
Advanced manufacturing
The global market for humanoid robots reached a value of $3.28 billion in 2024. It is projected to reach $66 billion in 2032, with a compound annual growth rate of 45.5%, according to Fortune Business Insights.
In the sector, Tesla is applying its expertise in autonomous vehicle artificial intelligence to robotics. Its Optimus project, a humanoid robot under development, runs on the same AI system.
The growing adoption of industrial automation is driving demand for precise motion control and energy-efficient technologies. This creates significant growth opportunities. In addition, robotics is establishing itself as a high-growth market, thanks to the expansion of warehouse, assembly, collaborative, cleaning, and humanoid robots.
