Gantry cranes use legs to support the bridge, trolley, and hoist. They are widely used in container handling maneuvers in the world’s ports.

Other major exporters of gantry cranes are Germany, the United States, South Korea, the Netherlands, India and Poland.

The legs of gantry cranes can travel either on embedded rails or with tires, and its name refers to the door-shaped design of this machine.

Also, gantry cranes are load lifting equipment that can easily move objects vertically and horizontally, this type of crane is also known as a dock crane or container crane.

Gantry Crane Exports

Chinese external sales of these products in the past year were mainly directed to Asian countries, such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan, according to data from the Chinese General Administration of Customs.

In 2019, China remained the largest exporter, with 2 trillion 499,000 million dollars and a growth of 0% year-on-year, surpassing the United States (1 trillion 646,000 million dollars and a decrease of 1%) and Germany (1 trillion 489,000 million dollars and a decrease of 5%).

Trade was already slowing in 2019 before the virus attack, weighed down by trade tensions and slowing economic growth.

The volume of world merchandise trade registered a slight decrease during the year, of -0.1%, after having increased by 2.9% in the previous year, according to World Trade Organization WTO.

At the same time, the dollar value of world merchandise exports fell in 2019 by 3% to $ 18.89 trillion.

In contrast, world trade in commercial services increased in 2019, as exports in dollars increased by 2%, to 6.03 trillion dollars. The rate of expansion was slower than in 2018, the year in which trade in services increased 9 percent.
