HiRef will invest more than $20 million (13 million in the first phase) in its first Mexican plant in Parque PLATAH, Hidalgo, where it will manufacture cooling and air conditioning products for data centers and artificial intelligence (AI).
This was announced during Governor Julio Menchaca’s Ninth Investment Announcement. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for September 25, 2026.
The factory will focus on the production of liquid cooling systems and precision air conditioning (HVAC). This equipment is designed to regulate the temperature of data centers, cloud infrastructure, and AI processing servers.
HVAC Production for Data Centers
HiRef specializes in precision climate control systems for technology. Its plant in Hidalgo will be its first in Mexico.
Lorenzo Vianello, president of the Mexico-Italy Bilateral Business Committee of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (Comce), noted that products from the Hidalgo plant will supply the North American market.

The plant will begin operations between late 2027 and early 2028, producing precision air conditioning, chillers, liquid cooling, and low-GWP refrigerants.
