The Ministry of Economy has held more than 100 meetings with large companies to discuss investment projects in Mexico.

Among the companies that participated in these direct briefings with officials are: Samsung, Home Depot, Walmart, Dollar City, Ford, GM, Skyworks, and Valero.

Meetings with large companies

During the sessions with each company, private executives from different sectors shared details about their investment projects. They also expressed their interest in registering with the Single Registry of Investment Projects (RUPI).

The RUPI has a clear objective: to facilitate the establishment of investments in Mexico. How does it do this? Through personalized support and dialogue with federal government agencies.

The General Directorate of Foreign Investment acts as a liaison between investors and authorities. This strengthens coordination and provides legal certainty for projects.

The registry is aimed at domestic and foreign companies with investments equal to or greater than $100 million.

Single Window

As part of the modernization strategy to attract foreign investment, between October 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025, the promotion of digital tools promoted by the Ministry of Economy was strengthened.

These platforms, created in 2023 by presidential decree, are the Single Window for Investors (VUIMX) and the RUPI.

The VUIMX is a digital consultation platform. It gathers key information on foreign direct investment in Mexico, organized into state and sectoral files. It is freely accessible and has recorded a total of 496,085 visits, with 165,000 users from 134 countries. Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Colombia, and Spain account for most of the traffic.

The platform also includes microsites developed in conjunction with state economic ministries. Due to its impact, VUIMX received recognition from UNCTAD in 2023 as the “Best Digital Information Portal” and, in 2024, third place in the National Public Administration Award (PNAP).

For its part, RUPI grew from two projects registered in October 2024 to 16 registered in August 2025. These belong to strategic sectors such as manufacturing, auto parts, electronics, energy, and tourism, among others.

The total investment linked to these projects amounts to $30 billion. The General Directorate of Foreign Investment (DGIE) has carried out more than 300 administrative procedures to accompany their establishment process in Mexico.
