World trade grows 2.5%

World trade grew again, 2.5% compared to July 2020, reported the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB).

This is less than July’s growth, which was 5.0% compared to June.

In total, global trade is now 3-4% below the pre-Covid-19 level.

Europe showed strong export growth of 4.0%.

Japanese exports also grew strongly 6.6%, while imports continued to fall (-2.1 percent).

The growth of exports from the United States and China averaged 2.5 and 2.3%, respectively; Imports show a similar growth with 2.3% and 3.4% respectively.
