Largest exporters

Russia‘s recent invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions, bans and other measures taken by governments, organizations and businesses against Russia and certain Russian citizens in response have increased political uncertainty in Europe and have strained relations between Russia and a significant number of governments, including the United States.

For now, the duration and outcome of this conflict, any retaliatory action taken by Russia, and the impact on regional or global economies are unknown.

At the same time, the change in the United States government to the administration of President Joe Biden has generated uncertainty regarding possible changes in regulations, fiscal policy, social programs, internal and external relations, and international trade policies.

In addition, possible changes in relations between the United States and China and other countries, including Taiwan, could have a significant impact on world trade and regional economic conditions, among other things.

The list of the world’s largest exporters of goods in 2021 was completed with South Korea ($644 billion, +26%), Italy ($611 billion, +23%), France ($659 billion, +20%) and Belgium (548,000 million, +31 percent).

As of January 1, 2021, the United Kingdom lost the benefits of global trade agreements negotiated by the European Union on behalf of its members.
