Tatiana Clouthier would be the next Secretary of Economy

Tatiana Clouthier, Deputy Coordinator of Morena in the Chamber of Deputies, was proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to occupy the post of the Ministry of Economy.

In turn, the current Secretary of the Economy, Graciela Márquez, was proposed as a new member of the governing board of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), a position that will have to be ratified by the Senate.

The Ministry of Economy, through the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the World Trade Organization (WTO), is the body in charge of representing the country before the Organization.

Likewise, in other of its functions, customs procedures in Mexico are governed by the Customs Law and its Regulations, by the General Rules of Foreign Trade, published every year by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), and by a Agreement of the Ministry of Economy.

Lastly, the Foreign Trade Law and its regulations continue to regulate the imposition of non-tariff measures. The Executive has the power to impose said measures to regulate merchandise trade, through agreements issued by the Ministry of Economy or jointly with the corresponding authority, and published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

Tatiana Clouthier is a Master of Public Administration from UANL and a BA in English from ITESM.

She has been updated with various courses in Education, Didactics, Human Rights and Participation and Citizenship.

The current legislator took the course in Political Project Management at The Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University.

Likewise, she was certified by the National Strategy Information Center in «Culture of Legality».

In 2007 and 2014, Tatiana Clouthier participated at Harvard in the Governance and Challenges workshops for Mexico.
