Puerto Escondido-Huatulco highway would have an item of 230 million pesos

The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) proposed for the Puerto Escondido-Huatulco highway an item of 230 million pesos to the Congress of the Union.

With the expansion of the Puerto Escondido-Huatulco highway, it seeks to reactivate and generate greater access to the tourist offer of the state of Oaxaca, in addition to communicating with important cities such as Oaxaca de Juárez, Ocotlán de Morelos, Ejutla de Crespo and Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz that function as urban centers with a significant concentration of commercial and service economic activity.

Likewise, the federal government intends to turn the Puerto Escondido Huatulco highway into one of the main economic engines of the entity, mitigating the economic losses derived from the Covid-19 pandemic.

By connecting this road with the Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway, tourist activity will be strengthened.

Another road project

With the expansion and modernization works of the Chontalpa-Las Choapas-Ocozocoautla highway junction (Malpasito), the federal government aims to improve interstate communication and connectivity between the states of Chiapas and Tabasco.

The work will improve travel times and reduce the costs of transporting people and goods, with a regional impact in the south-southeast of the country.

For this, the Ministry of Finance proposed to allocate 200 million pesos to continue with the work, benefiting a population of 7,306 inhabitants through the economic reactivation of the service, livestock and trade sectors, preponderant activities of the municipality of Huimanguillo.
