Lala Elopak and Leche Bell, Grupo Lala’s alliances in milk and carton packaging

Lala Elopak and Leche Bell are the two strategic alliances that Grupo Lala operates in the production and marketing of milk and carton packaging.

Grupo Lala stands out for being the leading milk producer in Mexico and for having an important presence in the markets of Brazil, Central America and the United States.

Regarding the first case, in 1997, the cardboard packaging plant changed its name from Envases Especializados de la Laguna to Envases Elopak, motivated by the sale of 49% of the shares of Lala Elopak (controller of Envases Elopak and Elopak México, the cardboard distribution company) to the Norwegian company Elopak as.

Through this alliance, Elopak a.s. owns 49% and Grupo Lala owns 51% of the Lala Elopak company.

The purpose of this company is the manufacture, sale and distribution of “Pure-Pak” cardboard containers in Mexico, the United States, Central America and the Caribbean.

Grupo Lala

This company is dedicated to the production, transportation and marketing of milk and flavored beverages, as well as other dairy products such as yogurt and cheese.

Among its main brands are Lala, Nutrileche, Nutrideli, Nutrilety, Vigor, Borden, Promised Land, Eskimo, La Perfecta, Faixa Azul, Amelia, Danubio, Mesa, Fong, LecoYomi, Chiquitin, Soy Vita, Aquafrut, Plenia, Chambourcy, Fiorelo, Mileche, Boreal, Frusion, Nordica and Skim Plus.

Regarding the second case, in 2002, Grupo Lala entered into a “Joint Arrangement” with Beta Torreón, (Grupo Beta).

Grupo Beta owns 49.9995% of the Leche Bell shareholding, leaving Grupo Lala with the remaining 50.0005% of the shareholding.

The purpose of this alliance is to produce and market various dairy products under the Bell brand.

New investments

During the second quarter of 2021, the main acquisitions and projects under construction of Grupo Lala are the following:

  • Greek Yogurt Production Line Vigor.
  • Retofrit WWTP.
  • Reengineering of the process area at the Tecate Plant, asphalt and maneuvering yard lighting at the Laguna Complex Plant and independent line for the supply of CFE Sureste Plant and AGS.
  • Acquisition of 1st Phase and 2nd Phase Coolers ADN23 Detail Channel for Commercial Zones.
  • Stand-by facilities and cash receivers in Cedis Commercial Zones.
  • Simplification León 1 and 2 Western Zone.
  • Antechamber Cedis Apodaca.
  • Antechamber Cedis Piedras Negras Northeast Zone.
  • Simplification Cedis Tuxtla San Cristobal Southeast Area.
